To Daniel’s point, I first thought Colorado might not have much faith in Juju Lewis when Deion Sanders basically referred to him as a “Magic Johnson point guard” in his pregame interview with ESPN. While that sounds like praise, the best quarterbacks are the ones who can make plays themselves, not the ones tasked with just distributing the ball to skill-position players who can.
Brennan Marion’s play-calling thus far confirms my suspicions. Lewis looks limited out there, and judging by the way Colorado is treating him, it looks like he’s been that way in preseason camp.
